Welcome to the Quad

Rollins College is located a few blocks from the Polasek Museum. It is a small private liberal arts school, probably best known for its highly regarded MBA program. A dear friend of mine (and OSU colleague, Bill Haire) earned his MBA here, and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the grounds as I thought about him. I found it very enjoyable to explore this intimate place, and in the end wound up painting three paintings on the campus. The campus is an homogenous blend of Spanish Colonial architecture set in a mature landscape, organized by a series of small quads. This painting was the first of these quads that I encountered, emphasizing the friendly, accessible quality of the quads with its welcoming morning sunlight.
