Rio Grande monochromatic study

Painted on location at the abandoned Contrabando Movie Set along the Rio Grande during the purported "Rattlesnake Gang's" annual February trip to Big Bend National Park, Texas. It was an exceptionally cold and gray day, with the wind howling through the river valley. This painting was done rapidly while nestled in the cover of the brush along the riverbank.
